2012 in Review

If 2010 was a year of risk taking and 2011 was a year of vindication for that risk taking, then 2012 has been a year of reaping the spoils of that vindication.

This turned out to be a fairly short missive, but as the saying goes: “No news is good news”.

Work continues to be the most fun, rewarding, challenging, mind expanding thing I have done with my life thus far. I’m working with amazing, brilliant people doing super-cool, groundbreaking stuff. Looking back to 2010, it’s hard to believe I even considered not doing this. And it shows no sign of slowing down. 2013 looks to have plenty of new exciting challenges in store.

My social life is coasting along. I don’t spend enough time with the friends who mean the most to me. That’s something I can work on. But I do manage to have plenty of fun in the handful of hours when I’m not staring at code on a computer screen. I’ve made some new friends. I’ve reconnected with some old ones. And, as always, there are those few comfortable old shoes who I know will always be there for me no matter what, even if I don’t see them very often. Yellow Hat, Pilot Jim, Dr. Mike.

On with the show…

[personal attack removed]. Maybe you should be thanking Nowhereman for his work instead of demanding even more.

Nowhereman, I can’t speak for Daniel, but I think most of us would like to give you a big THANK YOU! We appreciate your devotion to this project and are thankful for all the work you’ve put into it. Best wishes for 2013!
